Thankful Thoughts

Hello bloggin' friends and Happy Tuesday to you! It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving will be here in two days. This year my husband and I were invited to spend the day with a group of friends, enjoying the traditional turkey dinner and sharing good times. There will be 26 of us in all, so I'm sure it will be a fun (not to mention, cozy) time. I'm happy ALL I have to cook for the day is a potato casserole and something for dessert! Gotta get that figured out soon, though. Nothing like having to visit the grocery store the day before a holiday...sigh! I wanted to make a card today for our friends who are graciously hosting this event at their house this year.

I was inspired by the challenge this week at Sentimental Sundays, "Thoroughly Thankful" (plus a sentiment). I have wanted to play along with this challenge for a few weeks now. I visit the blogs of few of their DT members regularly and am always really inspired by their creativity. (**waving hello to Cheryl, Kristina and Melissa!**)

This morning, when I hopped over to the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge blog, I fell in love with the design below and was ready to give it a go today. I was really excited to be picked in their Top 5 last week, too! Whoo hoo, that was pretty awesome news! Thanks so much gals! :)
I inked up my Day of Gratitude set and grabbed the coordinating Autumn Spice DSP to create my card. I love, love, LOVE this set and the rich fall colors. I actually really like how this card came out! It is a rare thing that a project comes together easily for me...I am kind of meticulous about certain things. (If you have ever stamped with me in person...and you know who you are...pipe down out there! Haha!)

I'm also entering this one in the Fresh Brewed Designs challenge to "Show off your Style" this week. I also visit 2 of their DT members blogs regularly (**now I'm waving hi to Kathy and Kelly!**) and wanted to play along. This card has a lot of elements that just make me happy, like bold colors, lots of shapes, lots of patterns and of course, BLING!
I made sure to give the inside of the card some love and attention, too. What do you think? :)
