Sail Away: Summer Mini Sneak Peek

Hello there! Hope you are enjoying your week, so far! Today, I wanted to share share a card I made with a *brand spankin' new* stamp from the upcoming SU! Summer Mini Catalog. The catalog will be available to order from on May 1st. "Sail Away" is sold as a single stamp and is perfect for many different occasions, especially cards with a masculine-theme.
What I love about this image is that you can do so much with it. From water coloring, to sponging, to heat embossing, which is what I did on this card. (I was inspired by Ann Schach's card HERE.)
  • I added some pattern and texture to the background using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and the Color Spritzer Tool.
  • For the oval behind the sentiment, I actually cut the 1 3/4" x 7/8" Oval Punch in half length-wise and then adhered it to the back of the Modern Label Punch. It made the oval a little wider to frame the sentiment.
  • To finish it off, I added some brads, the striped ribbon (it IS a different shade of red then  the card stock...shhhh!) and hemp twine for a "nautical-look".

All of the supplies used to make the card are listed at the end of the post, too. I actually made a bunch of these (minus the striped ribbon, since it is retired) for one of the the monthly demo swaps I participate in.  I can't wait to see what everyone creates this month! :) Finally, here is the finished inside of the card:
Thanks for visiting and please stop by again! (PS: I have a give-away coming up soon!) Have an awesome day today! :)
