A Golden Hello for Paper Players #182

Hello there! It's time for a new challenge over at the Paper Players! This week, Nance is our hostess with a fabulous color combo. I fell in love with these colors as soon as she shared the inspiration photo with us. I personally LOVE shopping for fun accessories. Handbags, shoes...but especially jewelry! I had a lot of fun with this challenge, which really helped me get out of the stamping rut I have been in lately. Thanks, Nance! :)
While perusing Facebook yesterday morning, I came upon the photo below on the Better Homes and Gardens page. Something about the layout inspired me and I thought it might make a cool card design. Love all the circles! Those colors are really pretty together, too. Hmm, a idea for a different project, maybe?
This is not my usual style and the "random" placement was kind of tough for me to get comfortable with. But once I overcame that (with a little encouragement from my friend and fellow Paper Player Ann) it came together quickly. I added a LOT of gold accents between the Foil Paper, Glimmer Paper, Sequins and Smooch Spritz on the butterfly. I don't tend to use gold very often, so I wanted to make it count. Haha! I also listed all of the supplies used at the end of the post. I really like how this one came out and I hope you do as well.
Please join us over at the Paper Players The challenge is open through Friday, February 14th, 2014 at Noon (PDT). Stop by and say hello to the rest of the Design Team to see what they are sharing this week. Have a great day!

Just wanted to share a photo of Miss Gidget before I go. I don't think I have mentioned yet that we officially adopted her. Yes, it's true. She got very sick while we were fostering her and her adopters ended up backing out. After nursing her back to health (which was a long and often scary road), the bond was way too strong and we were not able to let her go. The sassy diva is now home! :)

Love seeing the inspiration behind your layout. I love all the repeating circle elements, right down to the sequins. Only you could so masterfully combine all these golds together and make them sing. 4. While I love your card I am so thrilled to hear the Gidget is staying. She captured my heart from her very first picture and thought more than once about her and if you would keep her. Somehow I believed you would. Thank you for always inspiring me with your amazing design talent.

  5. Wow, you rocked both inspiration photos, Anne Marie!!! That BHG photo layout is intimidating but indeed appealing. I love how you interpreted it and the use of Nance's colors makes it even more awesome.

Miss Gidget is adorable and I don't know how I missed the news that you were fostering her. So glad she has found her forever home with the awesome Hiles. You guys are rescue rock stars and my inspiration. Lexi sends schnauzer roos to her buddy Emmitt.

I love the different gold elements you used, and somehow the butterfly seems to make everything balance out perfectly. Congrats on the newest addition to your family, too!
